The 2017/2018 "Dein Song für EINE WELT!" (Your Song for ONE WORLD) Song Contest
In 2017, the song contest was held for the second time, with more the double the number of entries than in the pilot round. More than 2,600 young people got involved and submitted around 500 songs. After the 32 finalists were selected by an independent jury, a specialist main jury then chose the 23 winning songs that were recorded on the EINE WELT album Vol. 2.
Young musicians took part from countries such as Cameroon, Germany, India, Argentina and Peru.
The highlight of the second round was the EINE WELT festival, which was held on 21 June 2018 immediately after the presentation of the prizes for the School Competition on Development Policy in the Admiralspalast in Berlin. 1,800 festival visitors watched our winners perform their personal songs for the EINE WELT competition live in front of a large audience for the first time. Among the audience were well-known patrons and supporters of the song contest such as Adel Tawil, Johnny Strange, Fargo, Cross, Jamie-Lee Kriewitz, die Wohnraumhelden/Fury in the Slaughterhouse, and many more.
The song contest and school competition team wishes to thank everyone who took part in the song contest. Once again, you made the second contest in 2017/2016 a truly unique event!
