No. Lyrics and melody have to be composed by you.

We require the name, surname and date of birth of every person who was involved in the creation of your songs. Please note that all persons involved have to be younger than 25 years and older than 10 years at the moment of closing date.

After the best 30 songs have been elected by the first selection panel, the jury will demand a copy of your passport or identity card.

A partnership with musicians from other countries is no selection criterion. However songs that refer to Africa or Latin America and include musicians from those continents qualify for the special Africa or Latin America prize.

Every participant, who is younger than 18 years old, at the moment of closing date, HAS to submit a Declaration of Consent signed by his parents (one Declaration of Consent for every minor participant). If not, the song cannot be published!

Even though you are the contact person of your band and you are 18 years or older, every member minor participant of your band has to submit a declaration of consent. Postage expenses will not be reimbursed.

The Declaration of Consent has to be sent by post or email (scan). Please print your Declaration of Consent, let your parents sign it and send it to the following email address: songcontest(at)engagement-global.de. If you want to send the declaration by post, please use this address:

Song Contest „Dein Song für EINE WELT!“
Geschäftsstelle
Engagement Global gGmbH
Tulpenfeld 7

Please note: As long as your Declaration of Consent hasn’t reached us, we are unfortunately not able to publish your song.

After the official entry closing date, you have one more week to submit the Declaration of Consent (in case of sending the Declaration of Consent by post: the date of the postmark counts).

Your entry will not be published until your Declaration of Consent reached us.

During an internal selection process 30 songs will be nominated as winners by a first selection panel. Thereupon the independent main jury (experts from the fields of education, movie and music) will select between those 30 winner songs and nominate the EINE WELT-Song, the prizes 2 to 30 as well as the three special prizes.

The first selection panel consists of representatives from Engagement Global, partners and music experts. The main jury is composed of independent experts from the fields of education, music, global learning and media.

The jurors of the Song Contest 2015 were: Prof. Dr. Christoph Wulf (vice president at the German Commission for UNESCO), Dr. Bernd Bornhorst (chief executive officer at VENRO e.V.); Dagmar Wöhrl (chairwoman of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development at the German Bundestag, member of the German Bundestag); Dr. Claudia Lücking-Michel (member of the German Bundestag); Hervé Tcheumeleu  (managing director at LoNam Verlag); Uschi Eid (former Parliamentary State Secretary at the BMZ ) Paul Glugla (music and german teacher); the musicians Ela Steinmetz and Yvonne Grünwald (Band Elaiza); the musicians Christof Stein-Schneider and Fabian Schulz (Band Wohnraumhelden); the musicians Mister Kibs and Jojo Boedecker; Miss Mitra Kassai (music producer) and John & Rasheed (radio hosts at JAM FM).

After the official closing date, all songs will be published on our website and opened to the User Voting. During the following three weeks the users are allowed to vote for your songs. The user voting consists of a voting on our website and on our Facebook channel. The first winner of the User Voting receives the Public’s Prize and his or her song will be one of 23 songs on the EINE WELT album. Winners 2 to 5 of the User Voting will receive recognition awards.

Yes! During the evaluation process our jury will mainly consider the potential of your song. If you have written good lyrics and composed a great melody, your song will have a good chance to be among the 23 winner songs!

But: Lyrics only are not enough! A melody in form of an audio file is required – if only a humming, recorded with your mobile phone.

The prizes are awarded to the songs. But every participant receives a certificate.

In the evaluation process your age will be considered but the prizes will not be awarded to different age categories.

The decision of the first selection panel will probably be announced in August 2017, the decision of the main jury probably in November 2017.
